The Short Answer

FP&A and EPM pricing in 2026 spans two orders of magnitude, and the bands are consistent: spreadsheet-native and SMB tools run roughly $18K-$60K per year (Centage, Cube entry, Datarails, Firmbase). Mid-market platforms and suites run roughly $40K-$150K (Abacum, Vena, Prophix, Cube at scale, Xactly), with fuller-scope mid-market deployments reaching $200K+. Enterprise platforms start around $150K-$300K for software alone and reach $500K-$2.5M+ in year one once implementation is counted (Anaplan, OneStream, Oracle-class deployments).

The platform-by-platform table below draws on the pricing analysis we publish across our vendor profiles. Two universal truths frame every number: list prices are opening positions — 20-40% movement from first quote is normal — and year-one software cost is a minority of enterprise total cost once implementation, training and administration are counted.

#PlatformBenchmark annual cost
1Centage$18K-$40K/year
2Cube$20K-$40K entry; $50K-$150K typical mid-market
3Firmbase$6K-$24K/year SMB; $36K-$120K mid-market
4DatarailsMid-market band; implementation fees ($5K-$20K) negotiable
5Abacum$40K-$150K/year ($120K-$400K over 3 years)
6Vena$50K-$150K/year for 50-200 users
7ProphixFrom ~$50K/year
8Xactly$50K-$150K+/year
9CaptivateIQ~$55/payee/month reported negotiated rate (+$10K-$30K implementation)
10Planful$200K-$750K 3-year TCO mid-market
11Oracle Cloud EPM~$250/user/month list ($3,000/user/year)
12OneStream$150K-$300K software Y1; $600K-$1.9M all-in Year 1
13Anaplan$500K-$2.5M+ Year 1

Use these bands as your anchor before any vendor call. A quote materially above its band needs a scope explanation; a quote materially below usually has the scope quietly removed.

How to Read These Benchmarks

These figures come from the pricing analysis we publish across our vendor profiles — a mix of vendor-disclosed ranges, reference-customer reports, negotiated rates shared with us and public list prices where they exist. Bands describe typical deployments at the vendor's core market; outliers exist in both directions.

  • First quotes are opening positions — 20-40% movement is normal across the category, more at quarter-end.
  • TCO beats subscription price — implementation, admin time and escalation clauses decide the 3-year number.
  • Escalation defaults are negotiable — 8-12% standard renewals routinely negotiate to 5% or capped CPI.
  • Per-seat models hide in minimums — payee and contributor minimums make small teams pay mid-market prices.

The strongest negotiating position is a genuine parallel evaluation. Vendors price against the alternative in the room.

Platform-by-Platform Benchmarks

Ranges are annual subscription unless noted; year-one totals for enterprise platforms include typical implementation. Every figure links to the full pricing analysis in the vendor's profile.

1CentageTop Pick

$18K-$40K/year

The value floor for structured planning: SMB-priced with 4-6 week implementations.

What moves the price: User count and entity additions.

Negotiation lever: Multi-year commitment at the low end of the band.

Centage's full profile

$20K-$40K entry; $50K-$150K typical mid-market

Spreadsheet-native pricing that scales with users and data scope — the entry band is genuinely accessible, the mid-market band is where most deployments live.

What moves the price: Seats and connected data sources.

Negotiation lever: Annual prepay and tight seat counts at signing; expand later.

Cube vs Datarails, compared

$6K-$24K/year SMB; $36K-$120K mid-market

AI-first SaaS planning priced for growth-stage adoption, with implementation bundled into first-year fees at the lower tiers.

What moves the price: Headcount volume planned and user seats.

Negotiation lever: Implementation fee waivers on annual commitments.

Firmbase's full profile

Mid-market band; implementation fees ($5K-$20K) negotiable

Our profile's negotiation note stands: implementation fees should be waived or heavily discounted on annual commitments above $50K.

What moves the price: Module scope — close management and AI tiers add.

Negotiation lever: Implementation waiver plus multi-year rate lock.

Datarails alternatives, compared

$40K-$150K/year ($120K-$400K over 3 years)

Purpose-built SaaS planning at a fraction of enterprise cost — our profile benchmarks it directly against Anaplan's $200K-$1M+ for the workloads growth companies actually run.

What moves the price: Seats and integration count.

Negotiation lever: Three-year pricing with capped escalation.

Abacum's full profile

$50K-$150K/year for 50-200 users

Predictable mid-market suite pricing; cumulative 3-year cost runs $175K-$525K, so the multi-year negotiation matters more than year one.

What moves the price: Contributor seat counts — the template model wants everyone licensed.

Negotiation lever: Contributor-tier licensing for budget-input-only users.

Vena alternatives, compared

From ~$50K/year

The best price-to-scope ratio in the mid-market suite class — planning plus consolidation and virtual close at a floor near where planning-only platforms start.

What moves the price: Entities and consolidation scope.

Negotiation lever: Bundle close capability into the initial contract rather than adding later.

Prophix alternatives, compared

$50K-$150K+/year

Enterprise ICM pricing with real range — our profile's advice: get the fully loaded 3-year number, not the year-one teaser.

What moves the price: Payee counts and module stack (forecasting, territory, amortization).

Negotiation lever: Payee-band pricing with growth headroom locked at signing.

Xactly's full profile

~$55/payee/month reported negotiated rate (+$10K-$30K implementation)

One of the few per-payee data points in ICM we can publish — watch the per-payee minimums, which make small teams pay mid-market prices.

What moves the price: Payee minimums and onboarding fees.

Negotiation lever: Minimum-payee threshold negotiation for growing teams.

CaptivateIQ's full profile

$200K-$750K 3-year TCO mid-market

Our profile's TCO framing is the honest one: demand exact year-one cost (software plus SI) and years 2-3 escalation — admin time adds $30K-$60K/year in practice.

What moves the price: Modules (Structured Close), users, escalation clauses.

Negotiation lever: Escalation caps — default 8-12%, negotiable to 5%.

Planful alternatives, compared

~$250/user/month list ($3,000/user/year)

Rare published list pricing in enterprise EPM — real deployments negotiate well below list at scale, with implementation the larger line item.

What moves the price: Module count and user tiers; SI scope dominates year one.

Negotiation lever: Oracle ELA bundling — EPM moves most inside a bigger Oracle negotiation.

Oracle EPM vs OneStream

$150K-$300K software Y1; $600K-$1.9M all-in Year 1

The all-in math from our profile: license $150K-$300K, SI $400K-$1.5M, training $50K-$100K. Software is a third of the real year-one number.

What moves the price: SI costs run 1.5-3x software; entity complexity drives both.

Negotiation lever: Phased SOW with milestone-tied fees; benchmark SI bids competitively.

OneStream alternatives, compared

$500K-$2.5M+ Year 1

The category's top of market — and post-Thoma Bravo, the escalation clauses matter as much as the entry price. Our Anaplan alternatives report exists for a reason.

What moves the price: Workspace size, model builders, SI dependency.

Negotiation lever: Competitive tension — Anaplan discounts hardest with Pigment in the room.

The Rest of the Data Set

Platforms outside the table, with the bands from our research (estimates hedged where vendors publish nothing):

  • Aleph — unpublished; low tens of thousands annually for lean teams, the spreadsheet-native band's strongest value case at mid-market scale.
  • FloQast — roughly $25K-$100K+ by users, entities and modules; materially below BlackLine at mid-market scope.
  • Numeric — roughly $20K-$80K+ by team size and AI scope; competitive with FloQast at like scope.
  • Board — roughly $75K-$300K+ at enterprise scope; typically below Anaplan for comparable footprints.
  • IBM Planning Analytics — published cloud tiers from roughly $70-$100/user/month; enterprise agreements land in five-to-six-figure annual totals.
  • Unit4 FP&A — roughly $40K-$150K standalone; materially better bundled into a Unit4 ERPx agreement.
  • Workiva — roughly $40K-$300K+ by solutions licensed; the known dynamic is accumulation as solutions stack.
  • HighRadius — six figures annually as the enterprise norm, scaling into seven for multi-module programs.

Every band links to a full profile with the pricing components, comparison anchors and the negotiation notes specific to that vendor.

Frequently Asked Questions

Benchmark bands from our vendor research: spreadsheet-native and SMB tools run $18K-$60K per year (Centage, Cube entry, Firmbase); mid-market platforms and suites run $40K-$150K (Abacum, Vena, Prophix), with fuller deployments exceeding $200K; and enterprise platforms start around $150K-$300K for software alone, reaching $500K-$2.5M+ in year one with implementation (OneStream, Anaplan). Almost no vendor publishes pricing, and 20-40% movement from first quote is normal.

Because pricing is architected for negotiation: deals are shaped by seats, modules, entities, data volumes and competitive pressure, and published prices would anchor every negotiation at the floor. The practical consequence for buyers is that benchmark data and a genuine parallel evaluation are the only real price leverage — vendors discount hardest against a credible alternative in the room.

Far more than the software line. The OneStream math from our profile is representative: $150K-$300K in license, $400K-$1.5M in systems-integrator implementation, $50K-$100K in training — a $600K-$1.9M year-one total where software is roughly a third. Anaplan deployments run $500K-$2.5M+ on the same all-in basis. Any enterprise evaluation that compares subscription prices alone is comparing the wrong numbers.

20-40% off the first quote is routine across the category, with the biggest movements at quarter-end and against active competitive evaluations. Beyond the headline rate, negotiate escalation caps (8-12% defaults move to ~5%), implementation fee waivers on annual commitments, contributor-tier licensing for input-only users, and payee/seat minimums. Multi-year commitments trade rate for lock-in — cap the escalation before you sign one.

For the right scope, unambiguously: the $20K-$60K band (Aleph, Cube, Datarails, Centage) delivers automation and reporting discipline that many teams currently approximate with a $150K suite they underuse. The band breaks down when requirements include statutory consolidation, complex multi-entity close or extreme modeling scale — those capabilities genuinely live in the higher bands. Match the band to the named requirement, not to the budget or the logo.
